Jagjit Singh

Jagjit Singh is a Leading Indian Ghazal Singer.

Jagjit Singh was born on the 8th of February 1941 in India.

Jagjit Singh became famous along with his wife Chitra Singh, a known Ghazal female singer.

As a couple they were leaders in modern Ghazal songs and were considered as leading singers aside from the umbrella of of Indian songs for Bollywood.

In addition to mother tongue language Punjabi, Jagjit Singh sings in many indian languages such as Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Nepali and Bengali.

In the year 2003, Jagjit Singh received the Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India.
