Noor Jehan

Nourjehan or Noorjehan also known as Nur Jahan was a famous Pakistani singer and actress, her real name is Allah Wasai.

Noor Jahan was born on the 21st of September 1926, She passed away on the 23rd of December 2000.

Noor Jehan was a singer and actress in British India and Pakistan. She was renowned as one of the greatest and most influential singers of her time in South Asia and was given the name Malika Tarranum which means the queen of melody.

Wasai was pushed by her parents to follow in their musical footsteps and become a singer but she was more interested in acting in films and graced the earliest Pakistani films with her performances.

Noor Jahan library of songs include more than 10 thousand songs to her singing credits in various languages of Pakistan including Urdu, Punjabi and Sindhi languages.

It is also worth mentioning that Noor Jahan was considered as the first female Pakistani movie director in History.
