Qana (also pronounced in arabic as Quana, Kana, or Cana) is a village located in the south east side of Tyre, a city in Southern Lebanon. The village of Qana has been the target of two separate massacres in which the Israeli Defense Forces caused civilian deaths during military conflicts with Lebanon. The first Qana Massacre was done during the Operation Grapes of Wrath in 1996 and the second Qana Massacre occurred during 2006 Israel Attacks on Lebanon.
Qana Massacre 2006 Qana Air strikes on the 30 July 2006 on an apartment building near a Hezbollah rocket launching site in the downtown district killed at least 65 civilians, including 40 children most of which are under the age of ten.
Qana Massacre 1996 In the bloodiest attack by far on this eighth day of Israeli aggression, over 105 civilians were massacred after Israeli artillery pounded a UNIFIL warehouse packed with refugees.
