The Beaches are still being cleaned under with hands of volunteers who are being trained by Lebanese trainers of the Civil Defense and Lebanese Navy

On Tuesday the 5th of September – training of trainers was carried out for the Lebanese Navy and Civil Defense. 22 officers were trained on how to carryout a beach cleans up program. The trainer was Mr Henrik Madson of the Danish Delegation.

On Friday the 8th of September, 16 volunteers responded to the call of the Lebanese Ministry of Environment for training on beach cleanup and were on Ramlet Al Bayda (from 9 till 12) being trained by Lebanese trainers of the Civil Defense and Lebanese Navy (pre trained on Tuesday) on how to use the Norwegian equipment in a beach cleanup process.

The French team was also on site to assist and continue the cleanup already in progress. The French team also provided the personal protective equipment (gloves and suits and shoes) that you see in the pictures.

Special Thanks goes to all our partners who have been working with us side by side in this oil spill crisis and especially in the training session. To the Lebanese Navy who organized the logistics of getting the Norwegian equipment needed onsite, to the French navy and team of experts, to the Danish team and of course to our trainers of the Lebanese Navy and Civil Defense and volunteers and NGOs for their dedication.
