Singer Julia Boutros raises $3 million for families of those killed in 2006 war

Famous Lebanese singer Julia Boutros has announced that she has raised $3 million since last year Ahibaii Project started. The money will be donated to the families of those killed during israel attacks on Lebanon which took place summer 2006.

Julia Boutros announcement was made during a special conference held at the Press Federation. The conference was attended by former Premier Salim Hoss, Talal Salman (publisher of As Safir Newspaper) , former MP Mekhail El Daher and Mohamed Al Baalbaki (The Head of the Lebanese Press Federation).

The "My Loved Ones" campaign and song was inspired by the speech delivered during the war by Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Julia Boutros announced that the campaign results exceeded all expectations as money totaled to $3 million through the efforts of all the good people who contributed either directly or indirectly.

The $3 million will be sent directly to the families, bypassing political parties.

By the end of the conference, Julia Boutros thanked everyone who made the Ahibaii campaign successful.

Special thanks went to the leader of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifah El Tani, and the ruler of Dubai and vice president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashed Al Maktoum.

Those great people supported Lebanon during the war and after.
