Kay Kay Menon was brought up in Ambarnath Pune, Maharashtra, India. Kitchu, as Kay Kay was known among friends, studied at the St Joseph's Boys high school in Khadki.
Kay Kay Menon was very famous in his class among his clasmates as a singer of Ghazals.
He passed his 10th grade in 1981. In 1988 Kay Kay Menon got his MBA from University of Pune from the Department of management Science, graduating with a major in Marketing.
As a young actor he began his professional career in the advertising industry before moving to theatre, television and later to movies and films.
