Tamer Hosny Speaks Out

Tamer Hosny talked about the real reasons why he was imprisoned. Tamer revealed the person behind it. According to Tamer Hosny, the person behind his imprisonment is an influential man who wanted him to sing in the wedding of his daughter. At that time Tamer declined the offer because he was committed somewhere else. Tamer Hosny has prepared a long list of artists who have forged official documents to escape the military service in Egypt.

Tamer and during his imprisonment prepared a new song entitled Fi Ay Mehnain. The song is dedicated to the solidarity of the Lebanese and Palestinians. Tamer worked on the music together with his cellmate Haytham Shaker, who is also spending a year with him in military prison for forging his military service certificate.

According to Tamer Hosny, The image of the children being killed in Lebanon pained him so much, soon he found himself writing this song.

The circumstances which faced Tamer and Haytham made them feel the injustice that many people are facing around the world.

Both Tamer and Haytham benefited from their time in jail by reading more the Quran.

The Military Court in Egypt had sentenced singers Tamer Hosny and Haytham Shaker to one year of prison in heavy labor.

The penalty has recently been reduced and Tamer Hosny is expected to be out of Jail by the end of August 2006.
