Rotana Records

Rotana Records is a music production company and a subsidiary of the Rotana Group Media Giant in the Arab World.

Rotana Records is owned by Al Walid Bin Talal, a Saudi Prince who shows special interest in Lebanon, as he has Lebanese roots.

Rotana Records is the largest record label and production company in the Middle East. More than hundred known Arabic artists have signed exclusive contacts with Rotana, since the early nineties.

Rotana records, operating under the Rotana Group, has been criticized lately by many of its own artists. They claim that the production label has reached a point where it is unable to be fair in terms of producing and promoting their albums.

Many artists are having their records delayed by months or even years, as other favorable artists compete and get more attention.

The public audience and fans of particular artists such as Nawal El Zoghby and Zein El Omr have shown frustration over the delay of their idols' new albums.

Rotana records backs its music production and artists management through numerous media outlets such as Rotana TV, Rotana Magazine and Rotana Radio.

In the early year of 2010, many rumors circulated in the print media in the Middle East, evaluating the business model of Rotana. Experts questioned the ability of the company to grow any further, suggesting a rampant failure at all levels and a possible bankruptcy.
