Ahmed Mukhtar

Ahmed Mukhtar is an Iraqi musician who played the Oud and the Arabic percussion.

Ahmed Mukhtar was born in the year 1969 in Baghdad, Iraq.

Ahmed Mukhtar became a musican at the age of ten, Mukhtar worked with numerous music groups and musicians in Iraq.

Ganim Hadad and Jameel Jerjis tought him how to play the percussion, He graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad.
He later moved to Damascus to study the Oud and Western percussion at the High Institute of Music. He also had some studies done at the London College of Music in London, UK.

In the year 1990, Ahmed Mukhtar started teaching and touring the Arab world and Europe performing in major musical events.
