Marcel Khalife also known as Marcel Khalifeh is a legendary artist, singer, musician and composer who was born in the year 1950 in the village of Amsheet in north of Lebanon.

Marcel started his career as a music teacher and since the year 1970, he became a leader in music, he was the head of Al Mayadeen Group which he founded in 1972.

Al Mayadden was created with the purpose of reviving the musical heritage of this village. He wanted to spread this music all across the Arab world. Marcel Khalife was able to reach fame with songs great songs like Ommi (My mother) and Jawaz Al Safar.

Marcel Khalife was very talented in playing the Oud music instrument. Marcel has performed and had big concerts in many prestigious halls.

Marcel Khalife also composed music for dance, soundracks for movies, and several instrumental releases including Sharq (Orient) which was performed by the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Piacenza Choir.

In the year 1999, Marcel Khalifeh won the Palestine Award for Music and in 2005 he was named the UNESCO Artist for Peace.
