Salwa Katrib also known as Salwa Al Katrib or El Qatreeb, is a famous Lebanese icon singer and theater actress.

Salwa Al Katrib was born on 17 September 1953 and passed away on 2 March 2009.

Salwa El Karib was married to Nahi Lahoud, the brother of famous lebanese producer and writer Romeo Lahoud.

Salwa Al Katrib has a daughter named Aline Lahoud, who was selected to sing for Lebanon at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv.

Just before Salwa passed away, she was admitted into the hospital after suffering from a brain hemorrhage which made her fall into a coma.

Salwa made her fame as an Arab Musical and Theater Diva back in the 1974 with her most popular roles in We Will Stand, along with Lebanese singer Tony Hanna.

Salwa Al Katreeb is also known for her great performance in the play (Bent Al Jabal) which means the Mountain Daughter.

Salwa also played a great role in the Princess Emerald along with Lebanese composer Melhem Barakat.

In the mid 2000s, Salwa Katrib decided to leave the spotlight, by limiting her appearances on Television and in magazines, and focused more on religious hymns.
