Man Booker Prize for literature, also known as the The Booker Prize, is a literature prize given every year for the best original full-length novelist. The novel or piece of literature has to be written in English.

In addition to the fame and world recongintion, the Winner of the Man Booker Prize gets 50,000 pounds.

In the year 2008 the judges shortlisted six writers and authors from all over the world.

Arundhati roy won a price for "God of Small things"

On their 25th aniversary, Salman Rushdie or Salman Rashidie also known as Salman Rushdi has won the prize for best novel in last 25 years for his acclaimed novel Midnight's Children.
