The yearly awards event, which honors recording artists based on worldwide album sales, as certified by the International Federation ofthe Phonographic Industry (IFPI)., took place in Monte Carlo, on Sunday night Nov. 4.
Unfortunately, neither Haifa,nor Nancy and not even Elissa gotthe award this year! You guessed it; Amr Diab got it instead. We wonder, are these awards really reliable? The feedback we obtained on Amr Diab's latest album wasn't that encouraging.
First Elissa wins the title when Nancy Agram was literally taking the Arab music scene by storm, with everyone purchasing two or three Nancy albums (one for the car, one for the office and one for home of course) and now this Do you think the results are being tampered with?
Likewise, Shakira also lost the title of World's Best-Selling Pop Female Artist to Rihanna :(
Mika scraped four awards though. We can comfort ourselves abit there.
