Anoop Desai

Anoop Desai is an indian contestant of American idol who is nicknamed as Noop Dogg.

Anoop Desai auditioned for American Idol season 8 in Kansas City, at the age of 21.

Anoop Desai went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he did a double major in southern and political science studies.

In fall 2008, he began his graduate studies in folklore.

Anoops Desai studied at East Chapel Hill High School. During that time, he had get performances in The Wiz and Joseph, Oliver, and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Anoop Desai was selected to go to Hollywood, and later was among the top 36, However he was eliminated from American Idol Season 8 on February 18, 2009.

Anoop was lucky because Simon Cowell liked him and for that an exception was made in the show when Anoop Desai was brought back for the Wild Card round and made the Top 13 on March 5, 2009. The top 13 is said to have been created just to get Anoop back in the show, as for the past seasons used to accommodate for only top 12 students.

Anoop Desai was first a member of the Clef Hangers, the oldest male Capella group at the University of North Carolina, then later he became the president of the group during his senior year.
