Colette Renard passes away at the age of 85.

Colette Renard, mostly known as Rachel Levy from the epic French TV Series Plus Belle La Vie, left us on Oct the 6th 2010 after a long fight with her illness. The series were originally created for France3, but were also aired on TV5 Monde, M6 and other francophone TV channels…

Colette Renard had also appeared in other movies and telefilms, but was known in the 50s as a singer.

To note that Colette Renard had left the show a year earlier, after having played Rachel for five consecutive years.

Colette Renard was born on the 1st of November 1924. In the mid 50s she joins the Orchestra of Raymond Legrand, which she marries later on. Colette was famous in French musicals, and played Irma in Irma la Douce by Marguerite Monnot for more than 12 years! Renard also performed on prestigious stages like the Olympia and Bobino, alongside Georges Brassens. She was known for her naughty lyrics, especially in Les Nuits d'une demoiselle. But in the rest of the world However, Colette Renard was mostly known for her understated role as Rachel Levy, the sweet old lady with white hair from the famous series Plus Belle La Vie.
