Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul is a Grammy Award-winning pop-singer who started her career in music in the late 80s. Paula Abdul is also a dancer, an actress and television celebrity.

Paula Abdul was born on the 19th of June 1962 in the San Fernando valley. She is of Syrian descent (Abdul's father is a Syrian Jew and her mother a Canadian Jew from Russian descent) and her real name is Paula Rykiss, from Winnipeg.

Since her career started, Paula Abdul has sold well over 55 million records; Six of her songs topped as number one singles on the Hot-100 music billboard (most of them in the 80s and 90s).

Paula renewed her fame on television after her come back in 2002 as one of the four judges on American Idol along with Simon Cowell.
