In year 1984, Vanessa Williams was the first female of African origin to be crowned as Miss America.

Due to a scandal in which she was attached, Vanessa Williams she had to let go of her title as Miss America.

Vanessa Williams got back on track soon after starting a new career as an artist, for that she won Grammy, Tony and Emmy Award nominations.
